From the release notes:

  • Support for OpenSSL cryptography libraries
  • Support for newer IPv4/IPv6 networking functions
  • Oracle database schema owner lockout and restricted user privileges
  • S3 enhancements
  • LDAP authentication using Digest-MD5 mechanism
  • Basic authentication support for OpenStack Swift store
  • Support for installing iJMS on external Tomcat web server
  • Support for new infrastructure certifications
  • Support for Docker containers and Helm charts

Every other product from the stack has also been released as 16.7
